I bloody love Autumn. There are certain things that make Autumn, well, Autumn for me… and the list is not short. Crunchy golden leaves (tick), apple pie (all year round actually, but tick) bracken (still not entirely sure what this is) new pencils (tick) cosy knitwear – tick tick tick… the list goes on.
However, more recently I discovered the wonders of pumpkin picking and now I need A WHOLE NEW LIST as this has to go at the very very top. In bubble writing. And illuminated with stickers.

Last week, we drove 40 mins from London to Cammas Hall Farm – a pick-your-own farm in Hertfordshire, that gives itself over to the pumpkin season with all four cylinders.
The current Covid situation meant that they’d had to tweak the way they did things a little, but none of it dampened our enjoyment. In fact, no bells or whistles were required – we dived in and adored watching Izzy scamper about picking her favourite pumpkins, slurping marshmallows out of my hot chocolate, playing in the sandpits and swings…. and chomping down on my hotdog (so good – all local produce) from their barbecue.

It was the perfect Autumn day and the weather held and bathed us in sunshine… We popped into the shop after we’d selected our stash and bought some pumpkin carving tools and some twinkly electric lights to pop inside the pumpkins for Halloween… (I haven’t carved a pumpkin since I was in the Brownies and I am very excited).
If you fancy a trip to Cammas Hall, just head over to their website and book a slot! Easy peasy and the perfect Autumnal (and Half Term) activity .
Happy hunting!
