No matter what phase we are going through with Izzy, whether that be the crazy teething phase, the “no no NO!” stage or the uncontrollable tantrum phase (and here endeth today’s advertisement for having a child), there is one part of the day that I have always loved, where she is calm, happy and inquisitive… and that, dear reader, is Bath Time.
When Izzy is in the bath, it’s like we’ve entered a different paradigm. She’d be happy splashing away for hours in a bucket of water, so give her a lovely warm bath with bubbles and toys to play with and she is in Actual Isabelle Heaven.

Once we’d moved past the rubber duck and bath book stage (she loved these but we could tell she was bored of them once she got a bit older) finding new fun and engaging toys for the bath was actually not that easy. We discovered foam numbers and letters to stick on the bath, some kind of mini basketball net – that she never used – but finding exciting toys to quench her curiosity were few and far between.
I jumped at the chance to try out TOMY’s new Toomies range of Peppa Pig bath toys – not least because Izzy loves Peppa Pig, but also because they all looked REALLY FUN.

The new range is made up of four different products – Peppa’s Bubble Ice Cream Maker (I WOULD HAVE DONE ANYTHING FOR THIS WHEN I WAS SMALL) a Pull & Go Pedalo, Peppa Pig Bath Floats and… (and I love these) Peppa Family Squirters Assortment.

The ice cream maker is too brilliant for words. You just add bubble bath and water and Izzy can make actual ice cream. I mean, it’s not actual ice cream and she does know this… but in her head (and mine) it is completely real. It’s absolutely brilliant. So fun, so exciting, so bubbly… it’s the mechanics of it that make it so thrilling – you have to DO something and ice cream appears. Magic.
When it first arrived, Izzy couldn’t make it work without our help. However in a few days she was doing it entirely by herself and with great confidence! It’s been amazing to see how her coordination and understanding of the workings of the toy have improved and developed – so fast! She loves popping the sprinkles on top and also putting the ice cream cones back in their holder before she gets out the bath. It’s such a clever toy. Her older cousin, who will be 4 this Winter, came over one weekend and she absolutely adored it as well.

For those of you with children who love Peppa (solidarity, friends) you may recognise the pedalo from the TV show. I love how this one can take passengers too – it comes with Daddy Pig and Peppa) and needs no batteries – just pull on the string and off it goes. Oooh and Peppa and Daddy Pig are also squirters! Squirters? Yes, squirters! Fill them up with your bath water and squirt! Cue much squealing from Isabelle and hysterical laughing. Also, these squirters are excellent for cleaning backs of ears – my aim is second to none.

There are trio packs of squirters you can buy as well, which both include Peppa and George and either Daddy or Mummy Pig.
The Peppa Pig Bath Floats also come in two styles – Peppa and her Unicorn Floatie and George and his best friend, Dinosaur.

I love how elements of the Peppa Pig world, that she knows and loves, come to life for her in the bath. She absolutely adores these toys and they have elevated bath time to one of the main highlights of her (and my!) day. (After snacks).
All the toys are suitable from 18 months but I’m pretty certain that Izzy is going to love all of them for a fair few years yet. There is so much life and discovery in all of them and I know that once Izzy does eventually grow out of them, we will pass them down to another lucky little person.
Now, anyone for ice cream?
Stockist information:
