What a total TOTAL treat this was.
I’d been in Covent garden earlier in the day and I walked through the wiggly streets of London, in a bit of sun, wind, rain and sun again… (hello, Autumn!) to Hyde Park Corner, where I was greeted by an extremely gentlemanly doorman, who welcomed me into The Lanesborough Hotel, for a very special afternoon tea.

I’ve long been a fan of Peggy Porschen, so this beautiful pink and floral tea couldn’t have been more up my street. We settled into the sofas at the Michelin-starred Céleste and although it was a fairly gloomy day outside, the room was filled with a beautiful natural light, thanks to its naturally illuminated domed glass roof, and there were glorious pinkish blooms and exquisite floral features all about us… heaven.

Founder and life-long baker Peggy held her first prestigious pastry chef position at The Lanesborough in 1999, after graduating from Le Cordon Bleu’s ‘The Grand Diploma of Cuisine & Patisserie’… so it’s even more special that she has returned!
Alongside her skilled pastry chef team, she has designed a beautifully unique afternoon tea experience in collaboration with The Lanesborough’s Head Pastry Chef Kevin Miller.

Peggy Porschen will be at The Lanesborough until the end of Dec and on the 13 November the afternoon tea will transform and become wonderfully festive!
The reimagined festive tea will feature some of Peggy Porschen’s signature creations and highlights will include Christmas Turkey and Stuffing, Roast Beef and Horseradish Cream and Honey Roast Pumpkin and Brie sandwiches, Jolly Gingerbread Cupcakes and Cranberry Christmas Pavlova!
Booking well in advance is strongly recommended and you can do that here.
A huge thank you to The Lanesborough for having us – we just loved it.
