A few days ago I wended my way to Paddington on one of the prettiest evenings I’ve seen in a while. The sky was full of pink hues, the weather was balmy and I kept having to remind myself that it was September and we were at the front door of Autumn, my favourite season.
To celebrate this glorious season, ASK Italian are launching a limited edition Three Course Dessert Menu (A THREE COURSE DESSERT MENU!), which will be available from the 24thSeptember… and I was headed to ASK Italian on Spring Street, to try the menu and indulge in all things sweet and delicious.
It was a total delight to be there in a room full of excited press, all a little bit intoxicated by the sweetness and prettiness of it all. I finally got to meet the gal behind instagram account @LondonIsPink – Julie – and we talked all things childcare, house design and juggling… and we were sitting next to a couple of younger journalists, who didn’t believe a word of it when I told them that I listened to a radio drama (“a radio drama?!”) called The Archers, which was about farming. Sort of. I think they thought I’d lost my mind until one of them texted their mum, who confirmed what I had said. And then Julie and I drowned ourselves in pink lemonade as clearly, we were Very Old Indeed.
Two thirds of Brits identify themselves as self-confessed dessert obsessives who would choose to eat sweet food forever if they had the choice… and with almost half of the population saying that desserts cheer them up as the colder weather draws in, it seems ASK Italian have answered the nation’s prayers.
Each of the desserts will also be available on the Autumn menu, and they each take their inspiration from Italian classics, while also having their own very special indulgent twist…

For £12.95 you can enjoy the below… and don’t forget you can share them with friends, or just order one of the items as a dessert (or an afternoon treat…)
- Starter – Chocolate Gnocchi– little bundles of joy, filled with Nutella and served with chocolate sauce on the side.
- Main course – Rhubarb and Custard Ravioli featuring pretty pink filled pasta parcels with a sweet and sour rhubarb filling,in a mouth-watering vanilla custard, topped with crumble.
- Dessert –Prosecco Sorbet, a truly traditional Italian end to the menu.
If you can’t see the menu when you visit, do ask for it as they may not have them readily available… but they are there!
ASK Italian’s widerAutumn menu, (also available from 24thSeptember) has some extremely new gorgeousness on it as well – Sausage and Truffle Infused Pasta and new King Prawn & Crayfish Pasta, both made with fresh egg frilly pasta, and my favourite, Slow Cooked Beef Shin in Chianti Sauce, as well as a number of delicious vegan and vegetarian options…
The room was delicious, the food was indulgent and everyone around the table left on a sugary cloud, topped off with sweeties from the sweetie bar, candy floss and a goodie bag stuffed with goodies.
