The Ninth Door of Mayfair…Dinner in a Winter forest and an unexpected snowfall
My ninth door of Mayfair is the extraordinary ‘Sketch‘ – born out of a dream to launch a centre, a “lieu” or destination place, for food, art and music, was brought to life by “Momo” Mazouz over two expansive floors of a converted 18th century building in Conduit Street in the heart of Mayfair, London.
I visited Sketch for dinner, and the silk Jigsaw dress I’d seen when in their Duke Street Emporium came in extremely handy…
I had dinner in The Parlour, where Louis XV seating is in every corner, the lights glow, cocktails are flowing and there is a hum of chatter in the air…
There is a sense of drama at Sketch. Everything is more than you’d expect. The colours, the food, the design, the service…and the Christmas decorations this year are completely exquisite…
“The only way in is by foot, and legend has it that
travelling through the path will spiral you into Christmas…”
All the flowers were imagined up and designed by Carly Rogers, and they have magically transformed Sketch into a Winter Wonderland…
If you want to go somewhere, and be transported to a magical snowy Kingdom in the heart of Mayfair, then pack your sledge and head to Sketch, for cocktails, dinner, afternoon tea, or just a moment of magic…
Do take someone with you though – you’ll need to talk to them the next day, as you’ll most likely wake up the following morning and think that you had been dreaming…
