Duck & Dry is the brain child of Yulia Rorstrom who, frustrated by the lack of accessible yet exciting everyday hair styling solutions in London, decided to go all out and create one herself. Very sensible.
Duck & Dry is a blow dry bar with a difference. Actually, with several differences. Prosecco, being one of them.
Duck & Dry is like fast food for hair. Except, really good quality, healthy fast food. Like sushi. Sushi for hair. Have I lost you?
You pop in, peruse the menu, select what you fancy and then bish bash bosh, you’re out the door in half an hour, with amazing looking glossy Made in Chelsea locks… without the Made in Chelsea prices. Which is very good, for I certainly do not have a Made in Chelsea wallet.
All the blow dry styles cost the same at £28 – no matter how long your hair is, which is very unusual and refreshingly simple. So you just have to decide whether you want High Tide Waves, or Cool & Choppy, or one of the other eight styles they have on their menu…
If you’re in the market for an updo, (coz you’re off to a wedding, a party, or just coz you fancy it) that will only cost you an additional £7, and you can walk out with a Sassy Bun or a Brazen Braid… which I have to confess, I love the look of… (top left in the below picture…)
I opted for Low Tide Waves. After a wonderfully relaxing hair wash I was whisked over to the counter where my stylist set about me like a magician. I checked my emails, read a magazine and perused their bar menu like a hawk – POPCORN AND PROSECCO? Brilliant.
You can choose to have a blow dry without the wash, or have additional treatments – again these are all very reasonable at £8.

I love this range of hair products – I first discovered them over at ENA Salon…
It was such a pleasurable experience – extremely convenient and in one of the snazziest parts of London town. You can also choose to get a trim, have extensions or even take a little nipper in too – they’ve got all bases covered and all their ducks in a row.
My mane was preened within an inch of its life by the time I left, and even though I was fighting against gale force winds as I headed down to Habitat on the King’s Road afterwards, my blow dry remained intact and my feathers were not ruffled one jot.
Either they have lead and steel in their hairspray, or them ducks know exactly what they’re doing.
Quack.

I was invited to Duck & Dry to experience it for myself. And if I hadn’t loved it, I wouldn’t have written about it.
