New Year. New Bathroom.
The After

I can’t tell you how excited I am to share these photos with you after showing you ‘The Before‘. After the big smash up, the hours pouring over pink tiles on Pinterest and the whole should-we-shouldn’t-we brain melt over whether or not we should keep our roll-top bath, we made it. Ripples brought our dream bathroom to life and the last lick of paint was licked on Christmas Eve and we woke up on Crimbo morning to this – an actual luxurious bathroom, where I listen to podcasts in peace and do a full skincare routine in the morning and the evening like a proper grown-up. We did it.

The floor got levelled, the shower and toilet boxed out, pipes concealed, floor tiled, walls painted… and underfloor heating (my big one – such a luxurious feeling, to have warm and toasty feet) laid and bringing me all the joy.

Love the light in here now – it feels so airy and gorgeous.

This is where we boxed out the shower so we have a space for all the bottles and bits and bobs…

What a difference! I can see myself! And shelves! A place for my tea in the morning! The small mirror on the shelf is from H&M Home

We really wanted a pale grey on our walls, however every grey shade we found was always too dark. In the end, we went with one of Dulux’s off-whites – Rock Salt – and miraculously it looks grey in all the places we needed it to! We completely lucked out with it – the light and shadow of the room worked perfectly to give us our ideal colour.

Bose-Speaker
This water resistant speaker has been a total game changer for my podcast listening experience in the bath – such a lush, full sound. Love it.

We painted our bath a deep charcoal and it works beautifully. We started off painting it a far paler grey, but it just didn’t work. We changed it half way through it was painted and I’m glad we did!

THIS. This is what it was all about for me. This set up. This moment. And this amazing bath pillow – link at the bottom of the post.

We didn’t have to search for anything. Ripples met our brief and ran with it, all the way to luxury land. They found every fitting, every shelf and every tile (apart from the floor tiles, as we were being INCREDIBLY fussy and were determined to find The One. Which we did. (In the end).

Our bathroom is our sanctuary. It’s warm (underfloor heating for the win!) it’s beautiful and it’s just the most calm and glorious place to be. I look forward to taking my makeup off. And Izzy has taken to just lying on the floor, like a cat sprawled out in front of the fire.

Thank you, Ripples, for making our Christmas (and life, obvs) wish come true.

You only went and bloody nailed it.
