Did someone say chocolate? Did they? DID THEY?
Good heavens. When I was invited to Kimpton Fitzroy London, to try their new chocolate afternoon tea, celebrating the shorter Winter days and the season of decadence, I had no idea it was going to be so very special.
‘Do You Like Chocolate?’ is a stunning collaboration between Executive Pastry Chef and Winner of Bake Off: The Professionals 2019, Thibault Marchand and Director of Bars, Sean Fennelly, who has magically concocted four amazing pairing cocktails which match the exquisite patisserie perfectly.

Our tea was served in Fitz’s, where there were roaring fires, gorgeously rich interiors and the most beautiful festive details…
We began our tea with a selection of beautiful sandwiches – all very special and all very delicious…

And then out came the scones and patisserie and our eyes may have popped out of our heads…

The chocolate used throughout the afternoon tea is from Valrhona – a worldwide producer of exceptional, artisan quality chocolate – and Thibault has used it to craft a selection of delicate cakes to accompany the delicious drinks, all of which are included in the price.

The ‘Do You Like Chocolate?’ afternoon tea will be available from Thursday – Sunday, from 12 to 5pm. It is priced at £65 per person and will include a selection of paired cocktails. A non-alcoholic alternative is offered at £45 per person, and vegetarian and vegan options are also available. I love going to afternoon tea. This afternoon I went to a hotel with a friend for afternoon tea. We ate sandwiches and sipped a cup of hot tea too. The atmosphere was really lovely and all the staff were nice. Where do you have afternoon tea? I need some new recommendations on hotels that serve afternoon tea. I live in Surrey.
And the prices were reasonable as well. I definitely and highly recommend it. The whole experience felt a lot like a scene out of a rather old fashioned film. I half expected to see a maid carrying a tray of yummy sandwiches, scrumptious scones and other treats like hot cups of tea. Seriously.
