Lounging in Jigsaw & dining al fresco at Puente Romano, Marbella

Recently I spent a few days at the beautiful Puente Romano resort in Marbella…lucky, lucky me.
My full post on this stunning resort will be up on my blog in a couple of days, but for now I thought I’d share with you a few of my quiet moments in Marbella and some of the new gorgeous pieces from Jigsaw that I wore around the resort… which have an even more gorgeous story behind them…

New York based artist Audrey Louise Reynolds designed all of the pieces I’m wearing in this post. She has magically developed a unique recipe to create exclusive prints for Jigsaw, by using rain to imprint the colours of natural ingredients including wild ripe blackberries, dandelion, weeping willow bark and pale pink crystals… the collection has three stories and a limited edition run of just 50 pieces…
“We associate rain with dreariness but all that is beautiful relies on it. Imagine how exotic rain could be if we coloured it.” -Audrey Louise Reynolds
So I took the rain into the sunshine… which makes me, officially, a walking rainbow.

Sitting on my balcony, catching up with a little work and indulging in a delicious breakfast was how I began my days at Puente Romano… Top: Jigsaw| iPhone Juice Pack: Mophie | Sunnies: Dune

I loved finding quiet spots to sit and think… little nooks and secret corners, where I could sit, read and listen to the background soundtrack of the birds and the sea…

And in the evening, I enjoyed settling back into my sofa to catch up on the day’s emails, before heading down to supper…

Audrey is a self-taught pigment expert, artist and colour fanatic. Taking colours from nature’s stockroom, she uses ingredients such as saffron, periwinkle owers, blackberries and the soil under her feet and dehydrates them to create a fine, powdered pigment. Then she waits for the Brooklyn rain to shower the ingredients and transform them into prints… ta da!

“I find that collaborating with nature leaves so much up to chance. I think there’s something much more beautiful about that than anything I could calculate on my own.”
-Audrey Louise Reynolds
The pieces were all so comfortable, light and didn’t crease in my suitcase! Which is a huge practical plus for me, when jumping on a plane 🙂
Puente Romano
The Audrey Louise Reynolds collection will be available at Jigsaw next week and I can’t wait to nip into store and have a little rummage… nor can I wait to go back to Puente Romano… I’ve been dreaming of the sea (and those perfect poached eggs) ever since!
