I do love a pop up, but this pop up might just be the pinnacle of all pop ups. Pop up Mecca.
Champagne Laurent-Perrier have teamed up with luxury gastronomy company Cuisson to create an unforgettable afternoon tea experience at Piccadilly’s Burlington Arcade in association with Wedgwood. There is so much about that sentence that I love… and I haven’t even mentioned the fact that the tea is created by Hideko Kawa – former Head Pastry Chef at Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck….
Cuisson is all about creating an exceptional and memorable gastronomic experience and this is exactly what this was. You wouldn’t know that you were in a temporary establishment; everything, including the service and the surroundings is exceptional…
Cristina and I arrived on a gloriously sunny day – it had been aaageesss since we’d seen each other, so this was the perfect way to catch up with a friend. We were taking cake and tea to a whole new level…
The food was out of this world and I loved the quirkiness of Hideko Kawa’s creations!

Smoked salmon mousse cones, melon and mint compressed cucumber sandwich, coronation chicken terrine, curry mayo on toasted sourdough and Cuisson egg and cress

Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Champagne and strawberry trifle… and stunning Wedgwood Blueberry Macaron Cameos

Strawberry jam with elderflower, Pineapple, vanilla and lime jam, Butter with raspberry popping candy, Devon clotted cream
This afternoon tea is absolutely exquisite. A part of me wants to tell you every tiny little detail, but I know that I’ll just spoil the surprise!
The pop up is going to vanish forever this Sunday 24th May, so please please please book book book and enjoy the most marvellous of treats in one of London’s most grand and oldest shopping arcades… it opened in 1819!
And if you do go, go hungry – you’ll want to eat every single morsel…
