Vintage treasures through the post
(And a very special giveaway!)

I’m sure that I’m not the only one who has discovered various subscription boxes over the years – beauty ones, flowery ones, socky ones… (yes)… but never have I come across something quite like this. And I think it’s marvellous.

Style by Portobello is the brain child of Nzinga Russell, who thunk up this brilliant idea,  designed around her love for vintage and curated around her beloved local vintage market on Portobello Road.

The market is vast and bustling and many a vintage treasure can be found, however trawling through the market for hours  is not everyone’s cup of tea.. and you may miss all the best trinkets if you’re not there on the button. Nzinga to the rescue!

Style by Portobello is a monthly vintage style subscription service, delivering the best fashion accessories that London’s famous Portobello Market has to offer – direct to your door.

You can get the best of London’s vintage simply by registering for their monthly style box. They use insider knowledge and local contacts (in an entirely non-mafia way) to find you the best, one of a kind vintage pieces.

Gold bracelet – included in a past Bello Box

Every month each subscriber receives hand-selected, expertly curated vintage jewellery, scarves, bags or belts direct from the ‘Bello. Blimmin brilliant.

For £35 per month, subscribers to Style by Portobello receive a beautifully packaged gift box, containing up to three gorgeous vintage fashion accessories directly sourced from Portobello Market.  When you sign up you’re asked to complete a short profile questionnaire, which enables the Style by Portobello fairies to understand who you are and what you’re most likely to love…

They (the fairies) are then let loose in the market to select individual pieces which reflect your own individual look and style personality.  Each month you’ll receive something different –  one month you could be the lucky recipient of a  vintage clutch bag or stunning scarf.. and the next time you open your Bello Box you may find a glorious belt and necklace combo.  Citing times eh?

Oh and if you fancy winning one of these beautiful boxes, just enter the competition at the bottom of this post!

I love so much about this – by signing up to Style by Portobello you are supporting market stall holders, shopping local, supporting one of London’s most wonderful markets, investing back into a wonderful start up and treating yourself to vintage gorgeousness – beautiful things with stories to tell – all at the same time.

It’s a win win.

Actually, it’s a win win win win win.

  1. My favourite accessory is a silver fairy brooch with my birthstone in, that was passed down to me from my Great Grandmother. #Priceless

  2. My favourite accessory is a silver cuff I bought for myself at Christmas when I should have been buying presents for others!

  3. What a lovely idea! This would make such a great gift for someone too; I love the idea of receiving unique, vintage pieces straight from one of London’s most famous markets. My favourite accessory is an initial ‘M’ necklace by Alex Monroe. I’d wanted one for years and was so thrilled when I finally got it!

My favourite accessory was a beautiful silver ring with a big butterfly on it. The wings of the butterfly were decorated with peacock leather, making them a shiny mix of purple, green and blue!
