– A Streetcar Named Desire – The Young Vic announces 1000s more tickets and a day seat lottery

Ding ding! Big news – The Young Vic’s fastest-selling show of all time, Benedict Andrews’ production of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire – with Gillian Anderson, Ben Foster and Vanessa Kirby – is to extend its run by two weeks to 19 September 2014.
The public demand has been tremendous, and in response to this extra tickets will be added for every performance in the run. Public on-sale opens on Wednesday 16 July at 10am with tickets available online, by phone and at the Young Vic box office.
The Young Vic will also launch its first ever day seat lottery to allow audiences to see the show at the last minute. Hurruh! Names will be taken at the box office in person at 5pm with winners announced at 5.30pm for each evening’s performance and at 1pm with winners announced at 1.30pm for matinee performances. All tickets in the lottery will cost £20 with £10 concession for under 26s. Two tickets can be scooped per person in the Streetcar lottery.

This season, The Young Vic is featuring some top notch world-class talent in classic plays, including X-Files star Gillian Anderson as troubled Southern Belle Blanche DuBois in director Benedict Andrews’ production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

Winner of the 2012 Critics’ Circle Best Director Award for his staging of Three Sisters for the Young Vic, now Benedict Andrews takes on Tennessee Williams’ finest play.
The cast of Benedict Andrews’ Young Vic production is: Gillian Anderson, Ben Foster, Vanessa Kirby, Corey Johnson (as Mitch), Clare Burt, Lachele Carl, Branwell Donaghey, Otto Farrant, Nicholas Gecks, Troy Glasgow, Stephanie Jacob and Claire Prempeh.
