The past week, with its amazingly gorgeous weather and gastronomical treats has been an absolute delight. Here is my week in pictures, which were all posted on my Instagram, just for you..
I spied this beautiful 1973 Beetle on one of the long winding streets off Portobello Road. What a dolly. I wish it were mine, I wish it were mine… (I really , really wish it were mine!)
I had a meeting in Holborn last week, and these stunning blooms were in the flower stall just outside Holborn tube station. £1.50 a bunch – my kind of price…
The next morning I made smashed avocado and tomato on rye toast for breakfast. With a squeeze of lemon and plenty of salt and pepper. This is one of my absolute favourite things to eat – it’s so quick and easy. And, I was so hungry, I couldn’t wait until I’d taken the photo before taking an enormous, zingy bite.
That evening, Camilla and I went to On The Roof with Q – the Q Grill, on the roof of Selfridges – for cocktails before heading over to Patty & Bun. This pic is me on the bus, with my beautiful new Anthropologie bag, Oliver Bonas Oyster Card holder and my Dotty P trousers.. they’re light and breezy and perfect for Summer.
The bar and restaurant was so buzzy and lovely – there was also a lovely breeze up there, despite the air being very still on busy Oxford St below… The interior has been designed by the very clever Alexander Waterworth… post with more piccies coming soon…
Oh yes – that’s my Pimm’s. I do like Pimm’s.
And then we went to Patty & Bun. I wrote all about this earlier this week.. but I’ll say it again. Best Burger of My Life. (So far….) Here’s the full scoop.
STUNNING blooms on Portobello Road. Loved these roses so much.. I wanted to scoop up the lot of them and bring them all home with me. So, so beautiful and fragrant..
My perfect Summer outfit for a day of meetings and whizzing around… sandals from Office, trousers from Dorothy Perkins, my top is a French Connection find around 4 years ago.. and my bracelets are Annie Haak.
Time for a re-polish! £7 from ‘Perfect Ten’ on Lancaster Road. The colour is Essie’s very appropriately named ‘Too Too Hot‘
I nipped into my local Oxfam Bookshop and found my latest Book Club book. We’ll be discussing The Beach by Alex Garland online on the 19th August. Join in here…
On Tuesday, I popped down to Brighton for the morning with my mum. We left very early and got there just in time for a late brekky. We mooched about and ate some delicious fresh calamari on the beach front for lunch, and we were home by 4pm. Love these beach huts along the seafront.. oh I DO like to be beside the seaside…
That evening I met Lovely Man at The Prince Alfred and Formosa Dining Room in Little Venice for dinner. These are my feet on the gorgeous original tiling outside the pub – I’ll be writing all about this beautiful place next week…
Yesterday evening I met the Boshos for dinner in town and we went for ice cream afterwards at Gelupo on Archer Street in Soho.
The list of gelato flavours was amazing and included Avocado, Liquorice, Ricotta Chocolate and Black Pepper, Roasted Red Plum and Snickers… the special of the day was Cardamom.
I played it safe with Pistachio and Hazelnut – delicious. Mbosh had the Blood Orange and I think we had to crown it the winner. It could not have been bloodier orangier. (?)
This is what Piccaddily Circus looked like this morning. London is just gleaming at the moment – isn’t she a wonder?
And a couple of hours ago I could not resist nipping into L’Epicerie on Portobello Road to grab a couple of these beauties.
I mean, honestly.
If God didn’t want Poppy to eat croissants, he would not have made them LOOK LIKE THIS.
I hope you have all had super weeks – do tell.
I’ve shown you mine…

Ahh Brighton is looking gorgeous at the moment ;) And Gelupo is amazing! I’ll be back very soon… x
Such a cute blog! I stumbled across it yesterday and I love it!
I think I will have smashed avocado on rye bread for breakfast this morning since you inspired me :)
Patty and Bun does make excellent burgers, although I have not had one for months, and I did not realize that Gelupo was still doing avocado icecream ( i once had it a couple of years ago, and never seen it since). I think it is time I go back there (perhaps this afternoon!)

I am already planning my next visit Olga… Perhaps I’ll see you there! x
What a delightful week, your pics are so bright and cheery, and I am now seriously craving a burger! Enjoy The Beach! I just recently visited Maya Bay in Thailand, which is where The Beach is set – and it was a eye opener. Happy weekend!
