Jodie Kidd, The Wellesley, Wine Tasting and picnicking in Finsbury Park…- My Week in Pictures –

Living in London is always an exciting and colourful experience and I share my life in real time as much as possible via Instagram.
Writing a London Lifestyle blog means my experiences are always rather eclectic –   I’m often adding pictures of the latest café I’ve visited, new little shop I’ve discovered or the outfit I’m wearing.. l love the hidden corners of London and when I find a sparkly one, I share that too…
I started the feature ‘My Week in Pictures’ just last week, so this is round two.. it’s a bit longer than last week as it includes two weekends. I’ve loved collecting these moments over the last few days and if you want to hop on board my Instagramtrain to follow in real time, you can find me here.

I saw this vintage dress in the market on Portobello on Saturday – loved the shape and the colours – such a gorgeous bold print…

MBosh and I went wine tasting with Virgin Wines on Saturday afternoon at The Ivy. There is a blog post on the way, but in the meantime, just know that I tasted 50 wines.. and most of my photographs are a bit blurry as a result… (Lightweight.) There were also the most scrummy canapés whizzing around the room – the below was a bit heavenly… I may have had two. Or three. (Four.)

Saturday night was all about jam jar cocktails at The Shop in Kensal Rise with friends and family. It’s a gorgeous little spot on Chamberlayne Road and the cocktails (and nachos) are a m a z i n g. Such a quirky little corner of fun, yummies and loveliness.

Monday was the day I finally named my KitchenAid ‘Dolly’. This means that I get to sing ‘Hello Dolly’ every morning, complete with jazz hands and the occasional high(isn) kick, and it is completely acceptable. (Not that it’s ever stopped me before…) Here she is, sitting proudly on my kitchen shelves…

Wednesday was the launch of Jodie Kidd’s new collaboration with Debrett’s – a collection of gorgeous luxe leather travel wallets… and with champagne flowing and mini cupcakes from Hummingbird, whispering to me from the corner of the incredibly beautiful room we were in, it was a perfect way to spend my afternoon…

I walked back through Green Park and snapped all the lovely people in the lovely deck chairs… it was such a gorgeous hazy day…

And then snapped my feet on these stunning tiles, which were gracing the porches of many of the grand buildings in the backstreets of elegant Mayfair…

This mirror is i the main entrance hallway at The Wellesley on Knightsbridge, where I had the most delicious dinner with the annoyingly talented make up artist, Natalie James. The evening was in celebration of The Oval restaurant’s new Executive Chef, Michele del Monaco, and the launch of a new menu. Which, I can now say with confidence and knowledge, is fabulous.

These pics are from my jaunts around Notting Hill, as I whizz from place to place I snap the pretty things I see.. and these buildings really made me smile. I love the colours and the peacefulness of them.. ‘lucky, LUCKY me’ is what I think to myself every time I find myself walking home… Lucky me.

Thursday morning I met the gorgeous Flo for brekky at The Modern Pantry in Clerkenwell. We had eggs. We had coffee. We had YUMMY things. It’s a gorgeous place to meet and eat and I’ll be writing up a blog post on this place very soon indeed…

After brekky, Flo and I nipped next door to Easton Regal, where I was blow dried into the most natural-beachy-but-also-put-together-version of myself I could imagine.. clever stuff. Such a gorgeous salon with lovely people… with coffee and brownies. BROWNIES. THEY HAVE BROWNIES.

Later that day I took a stroll through Holland Park to get over to Queen’s Park, where I was meeting pals for dinner – below in Ostuni.

Ostuni is a very sweet Italian restaurant, with excellent food. It’s not cheap. But the food is so good, you forgive the prices… and if the staff are super lovely too…

Friday morning was a lovely meeting in Pizza East, Notting Hill. Fruit, yoghurt and honey for brekky and some very inspiring chats with Freya and Nicole from BIRD. Such lovely girls.. such delicious food. I left with a skip in my step and a desire to move to a hot country and eat mango in the sea every day.

This was me on Friday afternoon, on my balcony in the sunshine. Loved the weather so much that day – Summer was in my eyes and my hands and I was jumping up and down for joy.

Later that afternoon I had a meeting in Hammersmith – I snapped this window in one of the residential streets.. pretty flowers get me every time…

The weekend was so gorgeous and warm, that I did very little.. and it was wonderful. It began with breakfast at Golborne Deli on Golborne Road…

And then a little picnic in Finsbury Park among the birds, the trees and the flowers…

Sunday was much of the same, with a new discovery for me – have you heard of the Parkland Walk? I hadn’t and I was amazed to discover this 4.5-mile (7.2 km) linear green walkway in the London Boroughs of Haringey and Islington.
It follows the course of the railway line which used to run between Finsbury Park through Stroud Green, Crouch End, Highgate and Muswell Hill to Alexandra Palace… it’s bursting with trees, flowers and birds (and runners and dog walkers) and is the longest local nature reserve in London… who knew?! It’s a largely undiscovered gem and learning about it was really exciting for me…

We walked along the Parkland walk from Finsbury Park to Crouch End, where we popped out and headed to Coffee Cake for breakfast..granola, yoghurt, fresh fruit and honey.

And I spied this cake in their window..

Then it was off to Finsbury Park for more lazing, more picnicking and more soaking up the sunshine…
