All Hail Patty & Bun
Something happened last week.
I had the Best Burger Of My Life.
It rather surprised me actually, for I have had a lot of burgers. I tried to count how many burgers I could actually have consumed in my time on this planet.. but then it became a bit upsetting and I had a strong desire to do sit-ups.
Anyway, all those other burgers are clean forgotten. They have all paled into insignificance. For I, Poppy, have had now had the Best Burger Of My Life, thanks to my lovely chum Camilla, who whisked me off to Patty & Bun last week for burgers, rum punch and an outstanding soundtrack.
Patty & Bun began as a pop-up, but the good folk of London loved them far too much and started demanding more than a wee pop-up could deliver… so Patty & Bun finally stuck their flag in the ground and opened the first permanent shack on James Street in Marylebone. They have since opened a second branch in Liverpool Street.
The restaurant itself seats just 30 at a time, but the turnaround is quick and the all-day queues move fast. The queues are also testament to the fact that the super lovely staff have hit on a winning formula of a simple yet outstanding menu, top notch service with massive smiles, no washing up, (all the burgers come in large wrappers which act as plates) a super laid back vibe, witty but completely unpretentious artwork and decor… oh, and dangerously delicious rum punch.
The ‘Ari Gold’ (apparently named after a high-maintenance movie industry agent from the TV show Entourage) is their signature burger and that’s what we had. A gorgeously juicy Aberdeen Angus burger in a shiny and delicious brioche bun, topped off with some kind of magical combo of ketchup and their signature smoky mayonnaise. Juicy, sloppy, oozy, dribbly, marvellous.
I have also heard wonderful things about the other burgers on the menu, specifically the ‘Lamb Shank Redemption’ burger (a lamb burger flavoured with coriander, chilli and cumin aioli) and even their sides are amazers. We had their skin-on rosemary salt chips and smoky-sweet chicken wings… and we were HAPPY.
I am not sure how to convey the deliciousness. I need a deliciousometer. I don’t have one.

Patty and Bun is my fav burger joint too, I started a burger hunt on my blog but found this on my second attempt so it kidn of ruined my game! Love your photos, they really capture the atmosphere. Let me know if you find anywhere better than P&B! xx

I went to their Liverpool Branch on Saturday with some friends and have yet to write up about it. I enjoyed it, the burger was delicious but it was the chips that stole the show!!

Patty & Bun is definitely my favourite burger joint in London- So worth the waiting time! But if you like burgers, and are ever in Berlin you have to check out Burgermeister. The cheese burgers and chilli cheese fries are amazing!

Thanks to your post, I had the Best Burger Ever. That happened a month ago. I spread the word around me….because it’s criminal not to try their YUMMY burgers. You eat and cry for more…really!!!!!
