Catching 40 winks (and then some) with Naturalmat

When it comes to a good night’s sleep, there are few folk who know more about it than the sleep fairies at Naturalmat. At 6 months old, when Izzy first went into her own cot, she slept on a Naturalmat mattress and the peace of mind it gave me was priceless.

Their range of cotton sheets and organic bedding is the most natural bedding available, completely chemical free and all made to the highest ethical and organic standards – certified by the Soil Association and comes unbleached and undyed. It’s no wonder that Naturalmat were award The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development in 2020, honouring and celebrating their commitment to crafting organic beds and mattresses from sustainable and renewable materials. And what’s more, they still do all all by hand on the same family boatyard, where it all began back in 1999… by a bird sanctuary along the banks of the River Exe in Devon.

My bedroom is now a sleep sanctuary, complete with everything I could possibly need to have the very best night’s sleep… and this is happening in a lockdown, with building work going on all around me, with a very difficult neighbour situation (a whole other story) and a rodent issue that’s making me want to cry (yep, another story). The fact that I’m sleeping like a baby is not down to my zen, I can assure you – there is no doubt in my mind that I owe it to the Naturalmat sleep gurus.

Naturalmat is one of the most impressive small businesses I know – founded by two of the nicest chaps you’re ever likely to meet, who don’t let anything stand in their way of making sure their product is nothing short of perfect. Sustainable, organic, natural, chemical-free, sourced locally and made by people who love what they do and are proud to be doing it.

I cannot recommend these products enough – they were gifted to me and I feel very very lucky to be the recipient, but as you know I only ever write about things I truly love. And Naturalmat, and everything about it, I adore.
