Everyday Small Victories, with Vauxhall

It’s the little stuff that counts the most. I’ve always thought it and everyday I am reminded of it. When I transport the teabag from my tea to the bin, without dripping on the floor, I ACTUALLY high five myself. And there are plenty more of these moments throughout the day, to make me smile and let me know that I AM WINNING.

Vauxhall recently got in touch to remind me about this very idea and I was thrilled to try out their new limited edition Vauxhall Corsa, zip about the city and celebrate life’s small victories. And this I did.

I stopped at a local park for a picnic lunch on the swings… (not the shady tree to keep the car cool – WIN)

The Corsa has electronically heated windscreens, so it will be great for whizzing around in the chillier months too…

Every green light was met with a fist pump and filling up the tank with petrol until just the moment when the pump clicked onto a round whole number was cause for much celebration.
Whizzing about the city in this nippy car was a total pleasure. It’s perfect for London driving – so light to manoeuvre and packed with snazzy features to make it a go to vehicle for many a London dweller.

It may have been just me in the car, but it’s actually equipped with OnStar that offers 4G WiFi, supporting up to seven devices on the move. SEVEN. I’m going to get myself 6 more phones.

My first small victory came in the shape of a one way street, which I slowly meandered down in the Corsa, without meeting ANY oncoming traffic. None. Not a sausage. (I won!)
I then headed towards one of my favourite local coffee shops, Hucks. There are never any parking spaces outside Hucks. Never. Everyone knows it. There’s no point in driving there. I always walk. Because there’s never a parking space.
UNTIL NOW.
Right smack bang outside the front door was a Corsa-size space waiting for me. I couldn’t believe it. And frankly, nor could anyone else. (It was much cause for celebration). And even better than that, using the Corsa’s Parking Assist feature, meant I seamlessly slid into position like a pro. (This may have been the biggest win of all).

I don’t just love Hucks for the coffee…

Emily Brooks was holed up at the back, working on her new range of Christmas cards….

Emily loved the Corsa…she was like a bee to honey! I think it’s because it matched her lipstick.

And then THIS guy couldn’t resist a hug…

… and this one would have bought it off me on the spot, if it had been mine to sell…

I’ve never seen a reaction so strong to any car I’ve ever driven. People don’t hug cars. (Well I do, but I’m not everyone).
Driving the Vauxhall Corsa around London was like having a Robin to my Batman. Or a Batman to my Robin. (I’m not sure). It’s instinctive, has everything I could possibly require from a car (including side blind-spot alert, hill start assist (thank the lord) and Apple CarPlay – I can not be doing without my tunes) and is nippier than a nippy thing.
I loved it. And I loved my small victories – they made my day.
Thank you for the opportunity, Vauxhall – I’m missing her already.
(Yes. It’s a ‘her’. It’s always a ‘her’).
