We need to talk about Ealing
There are some unique corners of London, that are especially brilliant places to live. Places where you feel as though you are in your own mini city. Where you have everything you could possibly need, from bars and restaurants, to boutiques, parks, curiosities and culture… Places that are bustling and exciting and also have parts that are calm and peaceful. Where they have plenty of the big retail hitters and a myriad of gorgeous independents too… great coffee, great food, a plethora of restaurants on the doorstep (and on Deliveroo) and to top it off, a strong, vibrant and supportive community and community spirit to boot…
We need to talk about Ealing.
Ealing has all the above and so much more, but before I get into the detail of all the exciting nooks and crannies, the number one question that always rears its head when thinking about an area to move to is… but WHERE would I live?

Central Square is Broadway Living’s newest phase of homes at Copley W7 in Ealing, which comprises of high quality, energy efficient one and two-bedroom apartments, all of which have private balconies set around a landscaped courtyard. When the whole development is finished there will be communal landscaped gardens, a playground, a community centre and even a local shop for everyday bits and bobs…
Broadway Living, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ealing Council was established in 2014 specifically to help address the lack of quality affordable accommodation in Ealing. It is pioneering in its approach to housing provision, in that all profits generated from their homes are being invested into much needed affordable housing in the borough and key services in the local community.
I loved the floor-to-ceiling windows in the apartment – so much light was streaming in… 
Fashionable interiors by Artspace, designed using accessibly priced products or trendy items simple to replicate, will also inspire buyers on a budget. 
Amazingly, there is a train station – Castle Bar Park – opposite the development, which goes direct to Paddington in 22 minutes! Or you can hop on a bus or bike and be at Ealing Broadway in 10 mins, where you jump on the fast and frequent Overground, District and Central Line.
Prices on the apartments start from £435,000 for a two-bedroom apartment and Help to Buy is available on every apartment available to buy. Shared ownership has just launched as well and more details on this are at the bottom of this post.
Ealing itself is pretty spesh and I loved spending my day wandering around and having a proper nosy in all the gorgeous shops and cafes. I couldn’t get over how much open and green space there was and with Gurnell Grove Park being a 4 minute walk away and Brent Valley Park a 16 minutes walk, you really are spoilt for choice.
There are some wonderful areas for children to play in – Izzy would have loved this playground! 
When I asked my friends who live there, about where they’d recommend visiting in Ealing and what they most loved about it, my Whatsapp exploded. They all had so much to say and had so much love and pride for their area. The lists were long and detailed and I did my best to get around all their recommendations!

There are so many wonderful independent cafes, boutiques, restaurants and shops and because of this indie and entrepreneurial scene, you can really feel the supportive community spirit that radiates out of them. I chatted to a number of the shop owners and they all absolutely LOVE being in Ealing – it’s a real up -and-coming area for first time buyers and so clearly a perfect spot for young families as well.

Ealing really does seem to have it all – the snazzy apartments, the gorgeous villagey feel as well as a bigger retail hub, a new exciting retails complex with a cinema on the way as well and of course, all the beautiful streets and houses…
I loved my time there and have been raving about it ever since.
So I’ll say it again – we need to talk about Ealing.
