The beauty world were the first, I believe, to enter the world of subscription boxes. The excitement of receiving an surprise package through the letterbox each month containing a teeny tiny lipstick or mini face cream was almost too much to bear. However there’s now a subscription box for EVERYTHING. Chocolate, books, tea, flowers… In fact, if there isn’t a subscription box associated with a brand it almost makes you a bit suspicious….
It is the beauty world that still dominates this market, which has seen thousands part with their well earned cash on a monthly basis, who are still excited about the postman’s arrival, but in reality often receive five or six little bits and bobs, of which one or two might be a good match.
It is for this reason that i was so taken with QVC Beauty’s box, Tili. It costs £20, comes with 10 products inside for you to try and the best bit about it is that there’s no subscription or sign up. So you can buy one whenever you can afford it and give yourself a wonderful beauty treat!
QVC sent me one to try and I was extremely impressed with the contents (and the packaging too – it’s a lovely big box! Very handy…)
Tili is QVC’s ‘Try it, Love it’ beauty box and it’s filled (literally, filled) with a gorgeously curated combo of the latest must-have beauty products, which includes cult brands, new launches and some of the newest and innovative products around.
I really felt like I was having the chance to jump the queue and try out some new products ahead of the curve… which is a lovely feeling, actually. I’m NEVER first in line and I’m ALWAYS the last to know. (I thought Instagram was a photo editing app for years).
My box was included the following products, which I am still working my way through…
• 1 x Alpha-H Liquid Rose Gold (50ml) – NEW
• 1 x OPI Fiji Collection Nail Polish (15ml)
• 1 x Vita Liberata 10 Minute Tan (20ml)
• 1 x Erno Laszlo Cleansing Oil and Cleansing Bar (15ml and 17g)
• 1 x It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream (4ml) in medium
• 1 x Julien Farel Vitamin Shampoo (50ml)
• 1 x Julien Farel Vitamin Conditioner (50ml)
• 1 x Ultrasun Face SPF30 (25ml)
• 1 x Benefit Roller Lash (3g)
• 1 x Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (30ml)
There are tips and tricks on how to use all the products on the QVC website, which I found really helpful – I’m always the one staring at a cream and having no clue what to actually do with it… thank you QVC! I no longer feel like an idiot.
The value of this beauty box really struck me too – the full size OPI nail polish alone should have cost me £12.50 and the new Alpha-H Liquid Rose Gold would have been at least £15, which is already more than the entire box cost me. So when it comes to value for money, it really is exceptional.
I have loved trying out all the products and making more time for a bit of pampering. My favourite so far is the Alpha-H Liquid Rose Gold, and next on my list is the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser – I’ve heard such great things about this product in the past from various friends – I’m excited to give it a whirl!
I also love that I didn’t have to sign up to anything to receive this box and that there is no pressure to buy another one…
Although something tells me I’m not going to need much persuading ;)
