I am a romantic.
Not a hearts and chocolates and champagne romantic, but a letter writing, sitting on a bench, kite flying, no words necessary, foxtrotting romantic.
My grandpa used to serenade my grandma at tea time. Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, you name it – he knew the entire Cole Porter songbook…. and for this reason, so do I.
I could sit and listen to music from that era for hours… and I often do. It’s a glimpse back in time… and it fills me with happiness.
Here’s a playlist I’ve put together for your listening pleasure, which I’ve been listening to via the magic of bluetooth on my Emma Bridgewater VQ radio… (you can win one of these – just see the bottom of this post)
I’ve included some of my favourite songs , which my grandparents used to dance around the kitchen to… and which hold a place in my own personal memories too…
A few of us bloggers have popped up our playlists for you to listen to, and you can vote for your favourite Valentine’s playlist by using hashtag #MyLoveSong on Twitter.
One lucky voter will win their very own Emma Bridgewater pink hearts radio, so get involved.
Competition ends at 12pm on Valentine’s day…. good luck!
