Eileen Fisher lands in Chelsea

The store is beautiful. It is set inside a Grade II-listed building which dates back to 1843 and the Eileen Fisher gang have worked hard to preserve and restore gorgeous original features such as skirtings and mouldings, while at the same time have managed to bring a light and bright contemporary feel to it. The main shop floor is full of light and sunshine and upstairs is a dedicated showroom, where you can view the latest  and upcoming collections…
Eileen Fisher clothing is designed with a whole different kind of simplicity in mind.  Pure shapes,  fine fabrics,  simple silhouettes – the collections offer sophistication, comfort and style that lasts and lasts. And lasts.

 

A testament to this is their ‘icon’ collection, which includes wardrobe essential pieces designed over the last 30 years – and they are still stocked today. They are timeless, beautiful pieces, cut to perfection: “A six-piece collection that captures the essence of who we are.”
Eileen Fisher is also a pioneer in eco-friendly fashion and in supporting global initiatives that empower women and girls. The company has a HUGE socially conscious heart and this began way back in 1997,  when sweatshops were in the headlines and labor standards such as SA8000 were only just being written…
The company chose the word “consciousness” to reflect their desire to raise awareness about three very important things:

The current Eileen Fisher collection is the most eco-conscious line yet, at 60%. As the founder of a company that’s been socially-conscious for the past 30 years, Eileen herself is making it her personal mission to save the earth, one garment at a time.

I couldn’t resist and had to get a couple of things for myself… I will be heading to the Greek Islands in July and these pieces will be perfect!
