– Pescheria Mattiucci – A Fish Boutique off Portobello Road

On Blenheim Crescent, just off Portobello Road, sits Pescheria Mattiucci – a ‘fish boutique’ serving delicious fish and seafood, tasting as fresh as if the boat had sailed down Ladbroke Grove itself…

The original branch of Pescheria Mettiucci is from Naples, and the team have taken the essence of their home town and have lovingly created an authentic, Italian, sea-shack feel to their fish tapas bar in Notting Hill.

They serve 5 or 6 different oysters every day, raw fish, grilled seafood and special dishes, which the chef will throw together on a whim, depending on what the boat has brought in… just grab a pew at the long bar, order a bottle of white and let the staff advise you on what’s good that day – they really know their stuff…

The whole place has a lovely relaxed vibe and pace to it – sitting up at the bar, sharing a fish soup and some mussels with LM mid-week, it felt like a little piece of holiday after a long day…

It was a gorgeously cosy evening with delicious food and a lovely atmosphere… I’m certain I could smell the sea and could almost feel it lapping at my ankles as I sat up at the bar…
And if I could have had a little bit of the Neapolitan weather too, it would have been the pearl in my oyster.

We were guests of Pescheria Mattiucci, and if I hadn’t loved it I wouldn’t have written about it.

So happy to read this – I think I’ve got an old phone number for them and it wasn’t connecting when I tried last week, was so worried they’d closed down! Phew that they haven’t, will get myself back there ASAP 🙂

This restaurant does look super cosy and it is my life’s mission to eat as much tuna tartare as I possibly can so I need to check this place out! 🙂 Thanks for sharing. Lots of love, Andrea xxx
