Dirty Bones Hotdogs from Heaven in Kensington

You may already have heard of Dirty Bones – a celebration of experimental meat on the bone dishes, juicy burgers, outstanding hotdogs (one of the best I’ve had in London) and cheeky cocktails. You may also have already heard how ridiculously delicious everything is… and that they have recently added some heart stopping show pieces to their already bulging menu…? No? You’d best read on then.

“Welcome to the House of the Dirty Bones, where the vibez are good and the fives are high. We roll out the dirty bones, booze and beats Tues to Sun…”

Dirty Bones is a super cool joint on Kensington Church Street, which looks like just a hotdog stand from street level… but nooooooo… step inside, head down s steep flight of neon lit stairs and you’re greeted with retro-cool music (Ray Charles was playing on the decks when we arrived…) moody basement-bar low lighting, twists, turns nooks, crannies, a cocktail bar and a heavenly aroma of exceptionally cooked meat..
The menu is awesome. With an emphasis on their incredible dogs, there is a plethora of tasty dishes; think lemon glazed sticky chicken wings, treacle & bacon hotdogs, chilli and lime popcorn, sticky pork ribs, triple cooked fries, pulled pork mac & cheese, beef short rib with BBQ sauce, sesame seeds, spring onions and pickles… and stacks and stacks of gorgeous free range crispy fried chicken…

All of their dogs come in pork, beef or veggie… in a softer-than-soft brioche bun…

The vibe (and there really is no other word to use there) is FUN. And joyous. And everyone just seems to be having a really really good time – waiting staff included. Big smiles, big flavours and happy times.
We were completely stuffed, but had I had room for pudding, I’d have gone for the milk and cookies. Or the coffee donutini. Oh, or the the peanut butter cup…
Looks like I’ll be going back then. See you there?
