Making Laundry More Beautiful

It’s not often I write about laundry. Mostly because I’d rather chew off my own arm than do it. Not because I don’t like it – I LOVE clean sheets and fluffy towels – but because the process is so blimmin boring.  And when I’ve left it for weeks (don’t judge me – you know you do it too) and I have to do several loads in a day, I find myself swaying to the rhythm of the washing machine at night. Even after it’s stopped. Like laundry sea legs.

There have however, been moments when my love for laundry has grown… like when I learnt how to fold a fitted sheet… or how to get really tricky stains out of my clothes
And when Brabantia got in touch regarding their new laundry bin, I also had a moment of fluffy laundry love.

Its handy quick-drop opening means you don’t even have to remove the lid to put in laundry… so you can keep hold of that piece of cake. Or tea. Or vodka.

Even the underside of the lid is stylish

Even though the laundry bin is fairly large, (35 or 60 litres) there’s nothing clunky, heavy or cumbersome about the way it looks or the laundry experience. The lid is very lightweight (I played frisbee with it briefly) and the removable cotton laundry bag lifts out very easily. It also fits the bin perfectly.
So, there you have it; if you must do laundry, at the very least do it stylishly.

I was sent this laundry bin to review. And if I hadn’t loved it, I wouldn’t have written about it.

  • Thnx for the tip! I’ve (desperately) tried to find a laundry bin, both practical and stylish.
I will definitely add this on my list.

PS: About Petal and Cycle-such a clever idea! About ten years ago I lived and worked close to Russell Square and I can well imagine that this kind of business could work in busy central London.
