Brunch at The Montagu(and as much complimentary Prosecco as you can handle)

I’m sorry? ‘All-I-can-eat’ and as much complimentary Prosecco as I can handle? Really? Oh, ok then. And I think I’ll take my pal NJ with me too. Because a) she’s lovely and b) she can drink more Prosecco than me.
I already love the Hyatt Churchill. For this reason. And this. But the amazing New York style Buffet Brunch at The Montagu, really has made me fall in love with it even more.

I didn’t quite believe the menu when I read it; there was everything you could possibly imagine. Really and truly. I can’t mention everything as, a) you won’t believe me, and b) you may start to feel unwell. But here is a taster of what was on offer:
An amazing cheese selection, beautiful salads, (think Quinoa Salad with Roasted Beetroot, or Spiced Poached Pears, walnuts and crumbled blue cheese…) cold meats and salamis, an array of pastas, from spaghetti to risotto.. and a PASTA STATION, where you can make your own…(I was disproportionately excited about this.)

There’s more. So much more… Shrimp cocktail, (proper retro ones in glasses) Salmon with dill and capers, Roasted turkey with butternut squash mash.. Meatballs, steak, hot dogs, roasted vegetables and gourmet pizzas… again – you got to make your own. (Wahooo!) Love that.
Did I mention this was all you can eat..?

And I mustn’t forget to mention the complimentary alcohol, that just kept flowing… Prosecco, red and white Italian wines, Bellinis, lagers… heavenly. Hic.
The restaurant was packed, the live band were playing that kind of jazz that makes you feel as though you’re in a movie and I was a very happy Poppy indeed.

Round 1. Ding ding! (There were several trips back to the buffet…)

Have I mentioned the desserts yet? Didn’t think so. They ranged from New York Cheesecake with Blueberry Compote, Caramelised Sicilian Lemon Tart and Grand Cru Maracaibo Chocolate Cake to Classic Tiramisu. I tried them all. Obviously. (You have to when you’re a blogger. It’s the rules.)

And here they are making the tiramisu…

This amazing brunch costs £59 per adult and 50% off for children up to the age of 12.
Brunch is served in The Montagu every Saturday from 12.30 – 3pm.
** I’ve just spotted on their website that they’re offering a whopping 20% off until the end of April, (!) so if you do decide to book, just quote ‘hotel website offer’ to claim the discount. **
The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is gorgeously weekendy and relaxed, and everybody working there is so charming –  it makes you want to never leave.
This is something I considered but decided against it as, a) I suspect they wouldn’t have appreciated that, and b) I didn’t have my onesie with me.
