I LOVE receiving post and having exciting things plop onto my mat, like birthday cards, postcards… and flowers! (Thank you Debenhams..)
Although, what with technology and the tinternetty webby, often the fun and happy things like that get condensed into teeny texts and emails and we are left with just the yawny and scary things coming through the letterbox, like tax reminders (shiver) or council tax bills (actually starting to sweat now..)
So THIS is why I am bringing to your attention one of the cleverest and happiest new discoveries for me so far – Not-Another-Bill.
This switched on little company knows all too well how much it means to receive something lovely, and boy have they come up with a goodie. It’s the greatest Flugelbinder yet. (Have you seen Cocktail?) (If you haven’t you should watch it.) (But don’t judge me when you watch it – I can’t help it). (If you don’t know why I’m talking about the film Cocktail, you’ll have to watch it and then you’ll understand.) (No more brackets now.)
Not-Another-Bill offers a glimmer of hope amidst the junky and scary mail, with the arrival of a monthly surprise (ooooh!) gift specially curated and gorgeously packaged.
They also make it their business to collaborate with a number of different up and coming and established designers, brands and artists, to ensure their pressies are fresh, exciting and beautiful – and they really are. No tat or nonsense here. No siree.

I was lucky to receive my very own Not-Another-Bill surprise through the post, (you don’t have to be at home to receive it – the box fits right through the letterbox) in the shape of a gorgeous Penhaligon’s ‘scent library’.
For those of you who don’t know Penhaligon’s, it is a quintessential British fragrance house, founded in the 1860s by William Penhaligon, a Cornish barber who became perfumier and barber to the court of Queen Victoria. (Love British history titbits. Love love love.)
The scent library contains 10 phials of their most popular fragrances.. and they also included a lovely white cotton handkerchief, which depicts William and his creative chums.
It is the most lovely thing to have received and such a treat! It came perfectly packaged and made me feel special. I really loved it.
You can buy a subscription for yourself or as a gift. The cost of subscriptions vary, depending on how many months you want to run it for. You can also pay per month, (£17.50) and they currently have a 3 month trial offer for £40.
Thank you so much to Not-Another-Bill for my wonderful present and for making me smile. I can’t shout loudly enough about this gorgeous little company, whose main objective seems to be to brighten up our days.

I think this is really cute. I had actually forgotten these little woooden chip forks existed until this holiday when a lady gave one to my daughter for her chips!! I was really excited! Ha!
