Bit Graphic
Pootle on down to ‘Pick Me Up’ this month – the UK’s first annual contemporary graphic art fair… goodie.
Graphic art and design galleries, publishers and collectives have all bundled together under one roof and have customised individual spaces to create mini graphic worlds within the walls of gorgeous Somerset House.
The fair will showcase some of the best new work from all over the UK, (and other bits of the big wide world too) and there will be prints and original works available to buy… and you shouldn’t burn in a hole in your pocket as prices start at a tenner. Yip. (Good, isn’t it?)
There will be a Children’s Illustration Weekend, a Cartoon and Comics weekend (Geeky Poppy), a Portfolio Surgery and illustrator Zara Wood will be manning an enquiry desk too…
There’ll also be a ten-day residency from the Peepshow Collective, who’ll be presenting ‘The Museum of Objects and Origins’ (oooh), which will bring drawings, prints, costumes and objects together in an ever changing display…(the mind boggles).
Best bit is that workshop participants will get a chance to fill up the museum cabinets with their own masterpieces! Now, that IS exciting.
p.s. There’s a DJ and a bar too. What’s not to love?
