Dinner at The Goring with tickets to Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty
You will, I’m sure, have heard about the sensational Alexander McQueen exhibition that’s on at the V&A at the moment… It’s one of the most extraordinary exhibitions I’ve ever seen.
The Goring (THAT hotel where Kate Middleton stayed the night before the royal veddin) is now offering the chance to spend the afternoon at the exhibition, followed by three courses of sumptuous British cuisine in their beautiful Dining Room.

I love everything about the V&A – it makes me feel proud to be a Londoner. Everything it does is executed perfectly, whether it’s an intricate and detailed exhibition… or the cakes in their café. (They’re amazing.)
And I’m not the only who thinks so…

I arrived late afternoon and wandered through Savage Beauty… mostly with my chin on the ground; I was completely awestruck. The exhibition is the only major retrospective in Europe of the visionary fashion designer, Lee Alexander McQueen.

He combined a profound grasp of tailoring and eclectic range of influences with a relentless pursuit to challenge the boundaries of art and fashion, blending the latest technology with traditional craftsmanship…”

I loved the Cabinet of Curiosities – presented in a double-height gallery, interspersed with film footage of nearly all of McQueen’s catwalk shows, it showcases designs produced by McQueen in collaboration with fellow creatives such as the milliner Philip Treacy and the jewellery Shaun Leane.
There was so much to take in and by the time I left, all I wanted to do was sit down and discuss every inch of it from top to bottom over a long drink… which I did. At the Goring. With Mbosh.
There’s something special about The Goring, which is deep in the heart of Belgravia, just behind Buckingham Palace, and you feel it as soon as you enter… you know you are somewhere a little bit magical, and that it has a history…
We had a good natter about the exhibition and before we knew it, it was time to head into the stunning dining room for dinner…
What followed was an extremely decadent, unbelievably delicious, quintessentially British three course meal. We just loved it.
And instead of something sweet, we both opted to end our meal with a selection of Britain’s finest cheeses…
An exquisite dinner at The Goring, combined with the extraordinary Alexander McQueen exhibition made for the most perfect day.
This experience is a real treat, so if you know someone with a special birthday or anniversary coming up, I would suggest that this could be the perfect gift…
