Sunset dining at the Chef’s Table, Open House

Well, now it really does feel like Summer!
The exclusive Chef’s Table at The House of Peroni is back at Open House in Hyde Park for 2024, and this Summer it’s hosted by the wonderful Cornish Orchards and Woodfired Canteen.
I went along to experience this event for myself on Friday night and it was completely gorgeous. Long table dining is one of my favourite ways to feast, and I was excited.
On arrival, guests receive a complimentary Cornish Orchards cider
I popped out of Marble Arch station and walked for only two or three minutes, before I’d arrived in what seemed to be, a kind of magical land… gorgeous light, gorgeous sounds, gorgeous aromas…. And the Chef’s Table looked absolutely beautiful in the dipping sunshine. Proper magic vibes.
Before we knew it, we were all sat down, sipping 100% fresh pressed Cornish Orchards cider and chatting to our neighbours. All of whom were smiling. There was a silent collective agreement that we were all delighted to be there. And excited to see what would come whizzing out of the kitchen.
Ben Quinn – Woodfired Canteen 
Turns out, the menu was excellent – Ben Quinn and his team at Woodfired Canteen really knocked it out of the park (badaboom) with their amazing seasonal and big-flavoured cookery using the best of Cornish produce.
Fennel and tomato salad with pink onions and mother’s garden olive oil 
The vibes all around were joyous and relaxed – there’s so much going on in the rest of the park – the orchestra was playing movie classics in the background, the funfair rides were in full swing… it felt like a festival. It felt like I was on holiday.
The people, the food and the beautiful park were all woven together in a kind of magical tapestry… It was a very special and unique dining experience, in the heart of London’s Hyde Park, and an experience I absolutely recommend grabbing tickets for, if you can.
