My London Garden Transformation – Part 2 –
(Following on from Part 1…) Homebase had absolutely everything I needed to complete my garden transformation and take it from Muddy Mucky Mess to Summer Haven – I was in my element strolling the aisles and picking out bits and pieces for the newest room of our house.
It was always so important to us to think of the garden as a room and not just ‘space’ at the back of the house. We wanted to really LIVE in our garden – eat, entertain, read, play… and snooze 😉 And I had all of this in mind when I was picking out our furniture and accessories…
Eating brunch in our garden on a Summer’s morning is a long held dream of mine – ever since we moved in to our Walthamstow house 3 years ago. So picking out dining furniture was a big moment for me! And having chairs with actual cushions feels like such a luxury…
We’ve created different areas and corners in our garden and I love the two little lounge set ups we have behind our dining area and by the lawn. It’s somewhere new to sit, right by the newly planted rose bush, which is due to flower any day now… (she says… fingers crossed…) and where we can sip a drink and watch Izzy toddle about, which is due to happen any day now… (she says, fingers crossed…)
Updating our pots was a really simple way to make a big change that took very little effort! Replacing our old (shabby and chipped) pots with some of Homebase’s beautiful ones was immensely satisfying and gave all our plants a new lease of life – they just looked so much happier in them…
And my favourite corner of the garden is the little reading nook we created in the spot that receives the last dollop of sun before it sets each evening… and this pod chair is even more comfy than it looks. It’s the perfect spot to curl up at the end of the day and cheers myself with a cup of tea and hobnob.
