The Shed, Notting Hill

I’d been meaning to go to The Shed for ages, ever since one of my friends visited and then didn’t stop talking about it… for a long time, actually. I think she still is.
I knew it was going to be special and I knew that it was going to be delicious… but what I wasn’t prepared for was how fun and barnyard-chic it was inside and how absolutely beautiful and PRETTY every dish was…

The Shed is the babe of of three brothers, who were brought up on a vineyard and farm in West Sussex. When school was over, Gregory chose farming, Oliver became a chef and Richard went into hospitality… and when the penny dropped that there was a link, they joined forces and opened the restaurant… and what a jolly lucky thing that was.
At the root of The Shed and their sister restaurant, Rabbit in Chelsea, lies the brothers’ farm in Nutbourne, Sussex. And you could almost imagine you were there as the unmistakable aromas of freshly cooked stunning organic produce wafts past your nose as you sit waiting in anticipation for THIS…

The meal was so fresh and colourful, exploding in flavour and I loved the whole sharing plate thing… There is a real sense of farm-to-fork here and you’d be forgiven for thinking that the herring was fished from the rivers of Notting Hill that morning…

The plates were small but mighty and we were extremely full by the time we made it through all the starters and mains… but as all clever people do, I employed my second stomach for pud…

The Shed does get very busy, so definitely book ahead… it’s charming, happy, colourful and bursting with sensational grub.
Oh, and it’s just a couple minutes walk from Notting Hill tube, so you can have a few more of those looseners too, if your heart so desires…
