There’s something about Autumn that raises my spirits and hopes in a way no other season can. There’s something about the bonus sunshine, the bite in the air and the permission to layer up with my favourite woolies, that steals my heart every year.
Last Friday went from being a blazingly sunshiney morning to torrential downpours in the afternoon… so before the rain arrived I headed to Covent Garden for a quick brekky and a coffee and a mooch about the streets.

The Gentlemen Baristas pop-up is there until 21st February and are serving all-day brunch, lunch and a classic afternoon tea… and you know how much I love an afternoon tea.
Walking around Covent Garden was very special – it is so quiet there at the moment and it had a real sense of peace about it… something I’ve not felt there before as it’s usually so very busy. I felt privileged to see this amazing and quiet corner of London during this very unusual time.

I walked slowly towards China Town and enjoyed every minute. Snapping little scenes as I went and remembering the many fun and exciting days out I’ve had here over the years… Covent Garden, you are a beauty.
Welcome, Autumn, with your apple pie, damson jam, pots of tea and crumble.
I’ve missed you ever so.

So pleased to be reaching you in Norfolk!
Autumn is one of my most favourite times of the year: apple pie, crumbles and hot chocolate can be welcomed without a hint of a pause. Thank you for the lovely images of London. I really need to visit our capital more often.
I couldn’t agree more.
