Tea is totally my jam. So to speak. And over the last few months I have been exploring the world of tea, discovering its powers and learning all kinds of clever stuff that I didn’t know. But I do now. And so do you.
Part of the fun of tea discovery is being able to try new varieties and experiment with flavours you might have not come across before. But good tea is often not cheap and buying a couple of new ones each time you go shopping will quickly lighten your purse.
So get ready to cheer, for I bring fabulous tea tidings by way of the Pure Leaf pop-up on Sloane Square.
This Winter, until the 23rd Dec, Pure Leaf is opening the doors to an exclusive pop-up store in the heart of Chelsea, where you can duck in out of the cold, drop your bags bursting with Christmas shopping in a heap on the floor and yell ‘BRING ME TEA!’ And they will. (Free samples!) You can sip, shop and savour its award-winning range of ethically sourced teas… and they are totally and utterly delicious.
You may not have come across Pure Leaf before, so allow me to introduce. Pure Leaf is a premium long-leaf tea, made from leaves that are hand-picked at their freshest before being expertly rolled and dried using the Orthodox tea process, and masterfully blended with all-natural ingredients to add colour, flavour and aroma. And the results are pretty marvellous.
They use tea from plantations that are 100% Rainforest Alliance certified ™ and Pure Leaf are also proud members of the Ethical Tea Partnership, so they win ALL the sustainability tea points.
And the points don’t stop there – the Pure Leaf range has recently been announced as being Good Housekeeping Institute Taste Approved 2017, making it the first and only tea brand to win the accolade… and several of their teas have been awarded 1 star at the Great Taste Awards 2017 as well. Kaboom.
The Kings Road, much like Oxford Street and any other busy shopping destination, is completely crackers (thank you, here all night) at Christmas time. Shoppers appear to turn into raving lunatics and if you’re not careful you can be elbowed out the way by an elderly shopper who’s been training for this moment for years, as you reach for that last figgy pudding…
The Pure Leaf Pop-Up is a gorgeous and calm haven amidst the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping madness. Escape the chaos of the shops and settle yourself inside their tea cocoon, where delicious Pure Leaf tea is being brewed, the aromas are divine and where you can take a moment away from the noise to just stop and savour your cuppa…
You can also do a spot of shopping yourself at the Pop-Up as Pure Leaf have curated bespoke gift sets including their acclaimed teas, engraved personalised teaware (perfect stocking fillers) and the Pure Leaf tea elves are on hand to give oodles of advice on selecting the right blends for your friends and family.
Last week I attended a tea masterclass at the pop up, which was absolutely brilliant and led by Joyce Muendo – Pure Leaf’s master blender. We all learnt an enormous amount about tea, its history and journey…. and my favourite part was the Christmas food pairing. Deciding which of Pure Leaf’s delicious teas would go best with mince pies or turkey was the highlight of my week :)
The next masterclass is on the 4th Dec – it lasts an hour and costs £5. Bargain! Spaces at the masterclasses can be booked at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/pure-leaf-london-tea-masterclass-tickets-39406280245
