Holiday snaps from my week in Crete

Crete Poppy Loves

Oh hello.

I’m home.

Crete was wonderful. A completely stop-everything-do-nothing-eat-taramasalata-all-day-long holiday, with no work, no phones beeping and no laptop or camera in sight, (which is why all these pics are snapped on my phone).

Taking these few days to stop and reset with my partner in crime and all things HAPPY, was exactly what I needed. I ate more Greek salad than I thought was actually possible, listened to podcasts, stared out to sea and got a bit addicted to The Beach Boys…

On the first day we arrived it was this this temperature at around 5pm! By the time we’d got to the hotel it was 41 degrees at 6:30pm as it was a hotter part of the island. Thankfully the temperature dropped considerably the next day and we enjoyed late 20s for the rest of the holiday… (Oh and I’m saying ‘I Won!’ because I always feel like the baggage conveyor belt is a bit like the end of the Generation Game… and when my luggage arrives, in my head, I HAVE WON THE GAME. (Don’t judge me). Suitcase: Delsey

I’d done a spot of holiday shopping before I went – this dress is from Whistles and the sandals are from Dune.

I bought it as soon as I saw it in this magazine! Paul & Joe Sister Dress

On one of the more breezy days, we spent a few hours logging in the spa at the resort… heaven.

We stayed at the Blue Palace Resort & Spa in Elounda, which is situated right opposite the island of Spinalonga. And for those of you that don’t know, this very island is the location for Victoria Hislop’s best selling book ‘The Island‘. So that was quite magical – listening to the audio book (LOVE audio books for holiday – do download Audible if you haven’t already) while gazing out to sea at the very island that I was hearing about…  it gave me tingles ;)

So now I am home. Rested and with a mysterious skin rash, that I think I got from the Greek sun cream (we ran out while we were there…)

So if anyone knows what I should do about that, please do let me know. Meanwhile, I am so pleased to be home and I can’ wait to get back into this glorious city of mine for a little while… before I whizz off to Croatia!

But that’s a whole other story…

Thank you Boden, for sending me these lovely pieces to wear on my hols! I’m writing about them because I love them and many of the links in this piece are affiliate links.

And if you don’t know what that is, ask me!
