These past couple of weeks, I have been recharging, rebooting, sleeping and (mostly) eating on two of the most gorgeous Greek islands I have ever had the good fortune to visit – Milos and Sifnos.
I have a camera full of photos to share with you, but for now, this is a hello – I’m home!
We got back in the wee hours of yesterday morning and today is my first day back at my desk, coffee in hand and an inbox bursting at the seams…
This time in Greece I had a proper holiday, which I only realised once I was there, how rare that is for me to do. We all need to stop sometimes. Turn off phones, tidy away To Do lists and switch off the part of the our brains that whir silently, reminding us of all the things we haven’t done. Our minds and bodies are the only ones we have and it’s so easy to take them both for granted… but when you start seeing Twitter feeds in your dreams (just me?) and your knee still hurts and you don’t know why (Pilates is my next stop) the universe is trying to send you a message.
It took me a while to listen… but once I did, the flights were booked, the bikinis packed and I was so excited to go that I forgot to tell you all that I was leaving for a bit. Forgive me.
Greece filled me with sunshine and souvlaki and now I am excited to be home in my new house in Walthamstow (a new post on that coming very soon indeed) with more colour in my cheeks than I’ve had for a while.
I’ve had a wonderful Summer and now that Autumn is knocking on my window, there is a sense of magic in the air and wonderful things to come.
It’s just so good to be home.
