I am rather enjoying getting into this growing lark. I’ve got tomatoes sprouting on my balcony, mint flourishing in my kitchen, mould in my bathroom and a few days ago I was lucky enough to take part in a workshop with London Terrariums… which saw me coming home with my very own bottled garden, just like what them Victorians did all those moons ago…
The workshop was a taster of things to come at GROW London, where London Terrariums will be hosting a workshop on the 25th June. GROW London takes place on Hampstead Heath 24th – 26th June and is so much more than a gardening fair… to me, it’s a gorgeous horticultural and lifestyle festival, with beautiful things to see and buy and a plethora of green-fingered experts sharing their wisdom in a series of workshops, talks and events… (I have 5 pairs of tickets to give away, so see the bottom of this post for full details!)
And by the end of session, we had all made a terrarium we were extremely proud of!
The whole process was absolutely lovely – we chatted, we laughed, we drank tea and got messy… but mostly there was just a very calm feeling in the room… It was extremely relaxing and a very charming experience. I loved it.
If you would like to win a pair of tickets to GROW London (and I have 5 pairs to give away!) just pop over to my Twitter account and RT the competition tweet.
The deadline is this Sunday 12th June at midnight, UK time.
Thank you so much to GROW London and to London Terrariums for this super experience – my terrarium is still going strong on my windowsill and has been a great conversation piece ever since!
Have you ever made a terrarium?
(And is anyone else substituting the word Aquarius for Terrarium in the song from Hair? It is TOTALLY stuck in my head…)
