When I visited Union Coffee last year, I was completely bowled over by not only their passion and true love for their coffee, but also the science behind it. The art of getting coffee RIGHT, is so precise… and they really know what they’re doing.
Those coffee-lovin folk at Union know only too well how many people travel to their local cafe to get their daily Union fix, so they hatched a plan to make it possible for us to have the full Union experience in our very own homes, via their new Coffee Club… and I say hallelujah. And Amen. And where the blimmin ‘eck did I put my cafètiere?
As a member of Coffee Club, you will receive two of Union‘s speciality coffees either weekly, fortnightly or monthly, sent directly to you in a handy -sized-postbox-friendly box, so you don’t have to hang around at home waiting for your delivery. Like some crazy coffee addict. (Me? Never).
You can either select the coffee you want to receive from their range of 30 speciality coffees… OR, you can tell them what kind of roast you like and how adventurous you’re feeling… (Bungee Jump adventurous? Or toe-dipping-in-the-water…?) and their Roast Masters (wonder if they wear a cape? Or a special hat?) will select something delicious for you to try at home…
Also, a huge selling point is that there is NO CONTRACT. Well done Union – that’s exactly the way it should be. So if you pop off on holiday… or you’ve overdosed on coffee and need a break, you can skip a delivery whenever you like.
You coffee will be hand roasted in their small-batch roaster in East London… and then they will grind it to your preference, depending on how you make your coffee at home. And if you want to stick with whole beans and use your own grinder, Union say “Sure buddy, no problem”. They are cool coffee kids.
As part of the Coffee Club, you’ll also be let in on insider tips and tricks for getting that perfect brew – from brewing techniques to understanding flavour profiles… it’s the coolest club I know of. (Apart from my book club. Obvs.)
I am by no means a coffee connoisseur, but Union’s Coffee Club suits me down to the ground. It is great for total coffee novices and also inspiring and exciting for proper coffee clever clogs and die-hard fans of the bean. It’s brilliant.
Well done Union – you have nailed Coffee Club.
Can’t wait to see what you turn your hand to next!
