I had never heard of The ENTERTAINER App until very recently, despite it being around since 2001, but that’s because it has only recently launched in London. The app has been hugely successful in The Middle East, Asia, Africa and other European cities… and now the team are very excited to have arrived in the mothership of cities – London town.
And I am too. And so should you be. Why? Because the app takes ‘buy one get one free’ to a WHOLE new level.
This really is not a gimmick – there are so many offers all over the place, but this one really is very special indeed, especially as you can use it seven days a week and with no advance booking. The app offers serious money saving across all kinds of experiences and services – restaurants, bars, spas, nightclubs shopping, hotels… The London version has launched with over 900 Buy One Get One Free offers, and after downloading the app last week, I grabbed my pal Danya and we hit the town with the app in my pocket and a doughnut in my tummy. (Sorry. Not sorry.)
We met at Spa London on Marshall Street in Soho, where we were each going to have a facial. I was very excited about this as I have never ever had a facial. Not one. Not one little facial. Danya on the other hand, is a well seasoned facial-er and she really knows her stuff – I was going with a pro! I was also excited as we were only going to pay for one!
The Entertainer App began life as a book of vouchers, which you would tear out one at a time and hand in to redeem it… but now that it’s become an app, there is a little (super duper easy) process you have to go through to validate your offer.
First, I selected the offer I wanted to redeem and the girl working at Spa London entered her company’s pin number to validate it.
Spa London jotted down the generated reference number for their records…
…and straight away the app told me how much I’d saved – it threw me at first as it comes up in USD, but after a quick calculation I realised I’d already saved around £56 – the cost of the second facial.
The London version of the app costs £40, which I had already made back in redeeming just one offer. The app is valid for one year, so you have plenty of time to work your way through the numerous offers and save lots and lots of money – believe it or not, there is the potential to save up to £60,000 with this app in just one year!

Danya was thrilled when she saw the La Sultane de Saba products the spa used – she is a huge fan and may have purchased a few little treats while she was there. Her skin always looks amazing so I was inspired to try them myself…
The facial we had was the 50 minute Elemis Skin Solutions Modern Skin Facial: “Designed for skin challenged by modern living. Bursting with anti-oxidant rich minerals and vitamins, this purifying treatment helps remove damaging toxins, regenerate skin cells and re-balance sebum. The results: re-mineralised and renewed skin.” It was absolutely heavenly…
I had no idea that such a serene spa existed underneath the Marshall Street Leisure Centre – it’s one of Soho’s best kept secrets and I hope the locals aren’t cross with me for letting the cat out of the bag!
We emerged feeling wonderful. My skin was actually glowing (I didn’t realise that was a thing that really happened) and we strolled through the Christmassy streets of Soho all the way to Covent Garden, where we were going to have lunch at one of the ENTERTAINER app’s restaurants – SUDA Thai.
There are lots of restaurants included in the app which we could have picked, including Busaba Eathai, Banana Tree, Zizzi, Belgo, Brasserie Blanc, Smith & Wollensky, La Tasca etc… so many choices!
The ENTERTAINER app offer at SUDA was buy one main course and get one main course free. So I saved another £10, taking my total savings to £66 for the day. Result!
The fact that you can use the app seven days a week really impressed me. Fridays and Saturdays have never been included on other reward schemes that I’ve used in the past, so this really is a huge bonus. Especially as these are the evenings when most of us would be going out!
Also, the other huge bonus is that you don’t have to book ahead in order to redeem your offer. You don’t have to announce that you’ll be using the ENTERTAINER app upon arrival, you just activate the offer upon payment and everything else is taken care of.
Again, on other reward schemes I’ve had to book ahead to let a restaurant know that I intend to use my offer and sometimes they say they’re ‘full’. Or might put us on a dark and dingy table in the corner… The ENTERTAINER app removes all of this awkwardness, which for me, is worth its weight in gold. (It’s not very heavy. It’s an app. But you get the point.)
As I said earlier, I have a magic code for a 40% discount off the price of the ENTERTAINER app! Just enter code ‘POPPYLOVES’ and start enjoying the app straight away. The full app will kick in on the 1st January, but if you buy it before then, there are a few little treats you can still enjoy before 2016.
So if you’re stuck for a last minute Christmas present, or you fancy treating yourself to some serious savings in the new year, then this couldn’t be more perfect.
Download, enjoy and rattle that piggy bank – 2016 is the year for facials, eating out and saving!
