West Thirty Six
I love Golborne Road. I love it for its artisanal personality, its market, its people and its custard tarts. And now I love it even more for its newest addition, West Thirty Six.
A grand old beautiful townhouse, featuring spectacular rooms and terraces, a range of lounge areas and which has two lovely outdoor spaces with an open grill and bar over four floors. FOUR. They serve brunch, lunch, dinner and wonderful seasonal cocktails… and as soon as we arrived, we knew were in for a treat.
West Thirty Six is Robert Newmark‘s latest haunt – the same chap behind the three Beach Blanket Babylons. He really knows what he’s doing and his knowledge and expertise shines out of every detail – the Champagne served in those glorious saucers, Chesterfields to lounge on, extremely polite and lovely staff… we loved it before we’d touched a morsel. And then, it just got better and better – the food was amazing.
Robert has worked closely alongside Chef Jon Pollard (Soho House-Caprice Holdings) to help create one of those menus where it’s impossible to not over-order. You want to eat EVERYTHING.
We began with Smoked Maple, Chipotle Chicken Wings, which came with the most gorgeous barbecue sauce. I’d have stuck my head in the dish afterwards, but a) we were in a restaurant and b) we’d ordered rather a large amount of food (not my fault – blame Ben) and I needed to leave room wherever possible. #SupperStrategy.
We also ordered a couple of side dishes – Mac’n’Cheese and Asparagus with a crispy duck egg…
The Oak Smoked Rack of Ribs is one of West Thirty Six’s specialties, along with prime cuts of organic Hereford beef aged in house and spit roasted rare breed Norfolk grey chicken. Everything is cooked with natural fuels and charcoal and they also stay true to the ethos of buying the best British produce they can and therefore delivering an authentic, British taste and flavour.
West Thirty Six is a place for meeting friends, networking, creating new ideas, drinking and dancing.
It’s bustling and brimming with creative folk, all excited to be there in the sumptuous surroundings and to be indulging in what they know will be a truly magnificent meal.
Go.
And then go again and take me with you.

I am a rib lover and having had a rather disappointing experience at Hotbox recently (http://andreaspassions.com/restaurant-reviews/hotbox-not-so-smoky-after-all/)I am first in line for some good ribs! Can’t wait to check this place out 🙂 Thanks for sharing! Lots of love, Andrea xxx

We went there a few weeks ago, and I liked it but…. the portions are SO big!! There’s no way we could eat all that food, which seemed a waste. I can’t wait to go back for the new seafood menu though! 🙂
