Coffee with Orla Kiely

Orla Kiely designs on Douwe Egberts jars

Last week I attended a very special coffee morning, where I met Orla Kiely at her Fitzrovia showroom, who was celebrating her collaboration with Douwe Egberts. And,  it’s a bit of a match made in heaven…

Douwe Egberts coffee jars are famous for the fact that no one throws them away. People keep them, upcycle them and uses them for storage – be it pasta, biscuits or pencils. I do, my mum did.. and my grandma probably did too. They’ve been around a fair while…(1753!)

So it made perfect sense to team up with Orla Kiely and use her bold and iconic graphic patterns to create a limited edition set of three fashion forward jars, which coffee lovers can collect, upcycle and treasure.

The jars will feature the Pure Gold and Pure Indulgence roasts and will be on sale nationwide from 01 May.

They’ll be priced at £6.59 (recommended retail price) and there are only 1.5 million available! So get that date in your diary and get ready to run to the shops!

    1. Hi Donna, I’m afraid I don’t know! The best place to ask this question is on the Douwe Egberts Facebook Page – they’ll come straight back to you, I’m sure :) Good luck!

  2. I was collecting these but they appear to have stopped doing now. I really loved them but didn’t get the green one any ideas where I can get one? Also hope Douwe Egbert will do this again!?
