The Make Pack

The Make Pack

Oh hello hello hello. I hope you have all had very merry Christmases and are gearing up for the sparkliest of new years! I haven’t been writing much over the past week, as have been having a bit of a rest.. and have also been trying (in vain) to kick the bug that gripped me a few weeks ago. I now appear to have a wonderful chest infection and a hacking cough. Hurrah!

A Festive Afternoon Tea

Lanes of London - festive afternoon tea

Last week I had a very special afternoon tea with my very special dad. For those of you that don’t know, my dad runs an amazing charity out in Uganda called Red Earth Education – they are working to increase life chances for the children of rural Uganda, through bettering teacher training.. and I couldn’t be prouder. (And if you’re looking for a worthy cause to donate to this Christmas, I know this little charity would be over the moon to receive a few pounds!)

He’s home for a couple of months now and to celebrate, I took him to Lanes of London by Hyde Park, for a very special and very festive afternoon tea….

ASUS ME176 MeMoPad

I am an Apple girl through and through.. not because they are necessarily the best, but because I am a creature of habit when it comes to technology. I remember when my beloved Nokia 3210 came to the end of its life – I had a mild moment of panic. How ever would I learn a new system?! (Loved that Nokia.)

On Sunday night, I got back from Barcelona, where I’d been for the weekend. I love that we can do this in Europe – just buzz off for a city break in another country, often at a lower cost than it would be to get the train to other parts of our own country…

Amid Spa Chelsea

I am fast becoming addicted to spas. Havens of peace, calm and tranquility, where you can press pause on the world, switch off every beeping, buzzing thing and relax every bit of you… from your head to your toes… and of course, your brain. Which, if you’re anything like me, often gets forgotten when it comes to taking care of ourselves…

A big thank you to Lydia for this picture!

I completely love how a scented candle can change the way I feel. It’s the ultimate finishing touch for a room… and such a wonderful gift. There are so many different brands and such a wide variety of scents (and prices!) that it has felt a bit overwhelming in the past, when I’ve tried to buy one.
